Why do people do this to me?

Well im 14 and I have a friend that is always making me feel stupid. She makes fun of me in front of all my friends and they laugh and stuff. She treats me so bad she yells at me and hits me and calls me names and I got tired of it and people see ho she is but people like hanging ot with her more then me. All my other friends besides my best friends that dont like her think she is cooler to hang out with. But other people think I am cooler because I am nice. She loves alot of attention when I curled my hair and it looked nice people said I looked pretty and she said I looked like a poodle and made fun of me alot. I dont see why people like her more when she is like this and also people say im fake and a poser and greedy and I get sad because my friend is worse but they diss me. I am nice, funny, respectful, and I help people with their problems but they still think shh is cooler she is the one thatgets invited to parties and movies every week and my friend Michael told me not totake stuff from her and to stand up for myself because he knows I can woop her a** and i think i can because i am alot taller and stronger but idk she is rude, nasty, disrespectful, and is a trouble maker. I know if i stop being her friend she will turn everyone against me because she did that in 6th grade and it was horrible. Why do you think people like her more and why do u thnk people say im greedy and a poser and fake? Help im curious
