Can an old console style radio be repaired?

I have an old radio which must be getting close to 100 years old LOL. It was my grandmothers, and while it has a great old timey vibe to it, its ultimately a dust collector. I would like to know if it can be made useable again, my husband says you can't buy vacuum tubes or other parts for it any more
