Should I brush my puggle's teeth?

my puggle is very sensitive to prepared dog food, coming out in rashes all over from all the premium brands. so I mix canned chicken, low salt canned peas, canned green beans and carrots, olive oil, a little oatmeal and cranberries to make her dinner most days. should I brush her teeth due to the softness of the food, or will her nylabone take care of it?
