Suppose that potential employees are either qualified (Q) or unqualified (U) and that with existing recruitment and selection procedures, 70% of job applicants who p the screening and are offered jobs end up being qualified. The firm is considering adding an additional step to the selection process, a final in-person interview with a senior manager. Suppose that 60% of qualified applicants would interview well, whereas only 30% of unqualified applicants would do well in an interview. If the firm supplements its selection process with this additional interview, what proportion of its subsequent hires would you expect to be unqualified?
