Would Jesus be considered a Socialist by today's standards?

He wanted people to help people.....not the government controlling everything and everyone. How much more we could do to help others if we didn't have to work from Jan. to May for nothing. All the money made during that time is what I pay in taxes. Not much left after that to contribute to help anyone. I think I could do much more to help people if I were to be able to keep more of my money.
